The extent of poverty and social exclusion

SMES-EUROPA would like to promote - for the next 10^th Seminar - a large Conference - at Rome in November 2007.  Why in Rome? 

In Rome where in 1992 - 15^th years ago – the movement of SMES began with the 1^st European seminar.

For these reason we would like to invite - of each of nine Seminars - ALL Organisers, Participants, Experts and Supporters to join to us for preparing and realising together this event: a Congress large for number and important for content and impact.

AIM of CONGRESS:

1.       Retrospective evaluation: "...what is the situation after 15 years?"
what had changed in positive or in negative way ?... 

2.       Perspectives and proposals for the future, for absolute priorities in RIGHTS and ACCESS to Health & Social Services for homeless and psychical suffering people.

Today it means that discrimination & stigmatisation increasing...,  marginalisation & poverty touch more people…, extremely exclusion make more and more victims…  WHY?

Why from 1992 all the efforts against exclusion – discrimination, in order to promote citizenship don’t give to our society the expected results?    WHY?
 

More than Social & Health Emergency isn’t Political & Society’s structural emergency?
And what will be must be possible – for all of us - also where all could seams impossible?

From many years you participate in SMES initiatives for promoting more Dignity – Health – Right – Access to services for disadvantaged and excluded people, especially homeless and mentally ill people living in the street.

Also in this occasion: “Would you like to participate - in active way - in this initiative of Congress?”

We will have in ROME the Saturday 20 May a first preparatory meeting; we would like to propose three other meetings. Venues and dates will be decided in Rome meeting.
